The Dead Willow Monolith

for safety and wildlife habitat creation.

Recently we carried out some work on a dead Willow that needed some attention for one of our regular customers, Oliver in Bayford.

Felling of this Willow was carried out to ensure safety of the home owners and neighbours who use the vegetable garden that sits below the tree.

We faced some difficulty with the climbing, rigging and felling out of large pieces due to the dead timber and sizeable decay pockets throughout the tree.

Check out our video of the team in action below:

Although hard to ensure no damages were caused, all went well without any problems.

Our customer was very happy with the work and condition of the site upon completion and all timber left was used for firewood and DIY projects. We love to hear that our customers will be reusing the wood for these purposes rather than it going to waste.

Thinking of doing the same as our customer Oliver?

Feel free take a look at some information below by Somerset Wood Recycling where they discuss interesting things regarding recycling and reusing. Also keep an eye on our Instagram for some of our own projects over the coming months and weeks.
